About the Job
As the Director of Sales at Hilton Anchorage, you will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the hotel’s overall commercial performance. This role leads all sales functions group, corporate, and event segments while collaborating closely with heads of departments to maximize top-line growth and market share.
We’re looking for a strategic, team-oriented leader who thrives on building relationships, growing revenue, and developing high-performing teams in alignment with Hilton’s brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Generation:
  • Lead the development and execution of the hotel’s integrated sales strategy to achieve budgeted revenue targets across all segments.
  • Analyze market trends, demand drivers, and competitor positioning to adjust plans proactively.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Directly manage and mentor the sales team, including Sales Managers, Coordinators, and support staff.
  • Establish performance goals, provide coaching and development plans, and ensure accountability across the department.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that aligns with Hilton’s values and service commitment.

Business Development & Client Relations:
  • Cultivate new and existing business relationships across group, transient, and catering channels.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and community engagements to generate new leads.
  • Host client site visits, presentations, and negotiations to close key contracts and partnerships.

Forecasting, Planning & Reporting:
  • Build and maintain accurate sales forecasts, business plans, and productivity reports.
  • Lead weekly sales strategy meetings and deliver insights to senior leadership and ownership.
  • Oversee compliance with Hilton brand reporting standards and systems (Delphi, OnQ, etc.).

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
  • Work with Event Planning, Catering, F&B, and Operations to ensure successful execution of contracted business.
  • Coordinate with marketing to promote offers, packages, and campaigns that support occupancy and ADR goals.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales leadership experience in a full-service hotel environment; Hilton experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams and drive results through strategic initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of hotel revenue management principles and sales tools (Delphi, RFP platforms, CRM).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to travel for sales calls, industry events, and Hilton training as required.
  • Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing work demands.
